DESIGN STATEMENT

My typical design style is fairies and princesses and trauma. I explore injustices and structural discrimination that fuel the cyclical age-old stories that were true then and true now. My designs are expressive and mystical with flair and heart [because pretty pink sparkles and a serious message isn't and shouldn't be mutually exclusive]. Through my queer, femme lens, I design with a cause in mind. The flow of paint mixes color and messages, often in a painterly style. By shifting perspective and movement, I challenge preconceived notions and draw parallels and explore the gray.

 

A comedy can have dramatic elements and vice versa. Laughter preps audiences for deep meaning, and context makes a farce grounded and more profound. I genre bend in life and in my designs.

 

Why can't it be both?
